Keepass 2 X For Mac Os X Package
[lang_en]
After unpacking the ZIP-archive a program package ‘keepass.app’ will be created. In order to start KeePassX ‘keepass.app’ should be executed.
The program package may be copied to any directory in the file system. Mostly it makes sense to move it to ‘/Applications’.

Mac Os X Update
- Why in hell would anyone want to use an application with all these problems?
- As long as you :
1) Use .key for the extension for you key file.
2) Realise that the left hand pane is a container to put groups (Rt click)
3) Populate a group with one or more sites in the Rt hand pane.then there are no problems. I find it stable and easy to use.It’s failing is that initial UI. If it had a wizard or an initial example then all this
confusion would vanish.It’s portable.You can use it stand alone on a USB key (But watch out for USB write-cycle limitations) - This program is an adaptation of another program designed to be used by Windows, KeePass Password Safe. I have used it several years and it works well.The homepage for that program is: http://keepass.info/index.htmlMuch of what you need is available through that page. There is a Help section, a tutorial to get you started, etc. Probably not everything is the same. Just keep that in mind.On a functional basis from what I read here it looks very close. KeePassX does not have a set of pull-down menus across the top like the Windows version. Haven’t got that figured out totally yet but I anticipate I can use my existing database with no mods as the file extension is the same.
- I downloaded the latest mac dmg (KeePassX-0.4.0.dmg). Problem is it will not mount on the desktop. It tells my there are filesystems not supported. I have triesd to download the files several times. Other DMG’s work fine. Am i the only one experiencing this?
- Hi,is it possible to sync the password i.e. to the iPhone?@Max
try to save it to disk first, then mount it. If you directly try to mount it it´s often corrupt. - 29.No Max you are not the only one. I just noticed the same thing.
Can’t install 0.4.0 or earlier versions to my Mac =(
I get the same error about filesystem not supported. - Concerning post 29. and 31.
Dear,I have been able to install KeePassX 0.4.0 on my iMac without any issue.
I did it using the command line.
First I checked the md5sum was correct for the KeePassX DMG downloaded file, then I used the hdiutil and cp commands to perform the actual install.If you never did a command line install, you might read the following page to find some help (it is quite easy):
http://commandlinemac.blogspot.com/2008/12/installing-dmg-application-from-command.htmlAt least you will get a bit more troubleshooting info about what is going on behind the scene.Good luck.FYI, my machine runs the following Mac OS X version:
$ sw_vers
ProductName: Mac OS X
ProductVersion: 10.5.7
BuildVersion: 9J61
$ uname -v
Darwin Kernel Version 9.7.0 (…) - Im with you Tom,I have a disk image of keepass, what do i do with it so it sits nicely on my Macbook pro?Put it in Applications I know..
Am i supposed to mount it?
Unpack it?
Rename it?
Is there a keypass icon for it?
Where do the installed files sit?
Explanation of the installed directories so i know where my encrypted passwords sit etc..I worked as a developer and its always the same.. - How do I open a keypass db from ftp? Not seeing anywhere in the app do do this.
